At Focus One, we believe that life-long learning is a vital element in every Christian’s life.  We also believe that there is no greater text you can study than the Word of God.  It is unlike any other book that has ever been written; the truths contained on its pages are the very words of God, and have the ability to significantly impact our lives.

We focus our study on the Word of God in a couple of ways:  First, every student has the opportunity to memorize five scriptures each week, while also doing an in-depth study on these verses.  By graduation, each student will have committed nearly 150 verses to memory AND have an accurate, life-changing understanding of these verses which goes far beyond mere rote memorization.  We also have a class simply called, “Bible Class” where we journey through the entire Bible, book by book, focusing on the main themes throughout God’s Word.

Students will also spend time in book groups with our staff, reading and discussing the books of their choice, ranging from Christian classics by C.S. Lewis, to the latest releases from authors like Mark Batterson.  In addition, students will have the privilege of participating in limited-access sessions with an impressive list of exclusive speakers such as Mike Foster and Chris Seay.  For more information about our guest speakers, click here.

To facilitate a new-found love of learning, each student will be given their own Apple iPad 2. This allows students to easily access study tools, read material, take notes, and complete their assignments. It is our desire that every Focus One student graduates having developed a life-long love of learning and the tools to continue to pursue knowledge, growth, and wisdom.

The goal of the Focus One curriculum is to take you on a journey to know God and, in turn, make Him known. Learning has more meaning when you keep the purpose in mind.
